The New Book!

After many long hours of work--writing, editing, theorizing, and creating designs--the new book is finished. Prose Artifact: On the Material Culture of Memory is a collection of personal essays, memoirs, experimental pieces, and word search puzzles, presenting the elements of recollection as their own form of material culture. With a background in museum work and visual art, I am fascinated by objects of everyday use and their relationship to our minds, specifically the montage sequences we call memory.
While this topic can be analyzed through literary and visual arts theories, it can also be explored aesthetically, through finished examples of memoir and personal essays. In Prose Artifact, I attempt the latter method with attention given to the former, from time to time. The results of this extended literary experiment should prove engaging to those who appreciate creative nonfiction, with its many nuances and open-ended questions about life.

As a collection, the book includes a number of previously published works, mainly taken from this website. However, I also composed a number of new essays, mainly in the section on literary theory, and designed collage pieces (and wordsearch games) to complete the project. For those wishing to conduct additional research, I have included an index and bibliography at the back of the book.
After a bit of a respite, I'll begin research for upcoming entries. As always, I thank you for your readership! Drop me a line to keep in touch:
