Retirement Anniversary

Retirement Anniversary

I am pleased to announce the third anniversary of my retirement. I was honored to serve the people of San Diego, California as a park ranger for two decades, safeguarding environmental resources, providing educational programs, and responding to emergencies with ranger colleagues, lifeguards, police officers and animal control officers. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Since retiring from service, I have embarked on a new career as a full-time writer and graphic artist, publishing my third book this year. As the summer unfolds, I will continue work on the next issue of my literary magazine while uploading new articles and artwork to my blog.

The fall/winter edition of Sharp Silhouette Literary Magazine will examine the nuances of memory, continuing themes I began to explore in my recent book, Prose Artifact: On the Material Culture of Memory.

In the area of visual art, I hope to complete my latest pen & ink series with inspiration from my travels through the American Southwest. I will also be creating a tutorial on database management, answering the question of how we, as artists, can organize and interpret primary source materials effectively, enhancing our creative work and making it more useful for scholarly research.

All three of my books are available through Arizona public libraries via the Indie Arizona project.

I'll see you on the road!
