Experimental Language Constructions (1)
Reflections on Presence and Absence (Visual Depiction, Fragrance, and Sound)
Background Notes:
Exploring the disciplines, as a nonfiction writer and avid reader, leads one to discover useful methods of analysis. With this in mind, I begin a new subseries, a collection of philosophical musings expressed randomly, often with poetry in mind.
The theoretical basis for this approach is rooted in exploration, at times helping to refine themes for writing and, in many cases, contributing to new research designs. Where can we search for fresh writing topics? How can we begin to analyze and build on existing themes? I use experimental prose constructions to help answer these questions.
In many cases, I like to think visually when doing analytical work, so drawings and photo collages will typically accompany these entries.

Commentary:
From this construction, I will likely begin to develop themes related to time, empathy, fragrance, and visual records, all of which bear upon the subject of presence and absence. In addition, we can explore these fragmentary themes further by building digital collages to express their various qualities.
