A Revision in Progress . . .

A Revision in Progress . . .
Planes of Intersecting Hues (Author Artwork)

The other day, I revisited an older upload from this platform, “Torn Page: A Stranger’s Letter to my Grandmother.” While the piece is still very dear to me, especially in light of recent events, it stands in need of revision. In short, I found it to be awkward in places, doing a great disservice to you, my readers.

Although personal essays and memoir pieces are discursive by nature, and one can take certain liberties with their narrative structure, clarity is of utmost importance. As the saying goes, “Good writing is rewriting.” With that in mind, I am revising “Torn Page,” adding a bit of material, and creating an additional collage for the sake of ambience. Along those lines, you will be able to read a brief tutorial on graphic design at the end of the essay, if you so desire.

As for those strange and surreal pieces that I call “experimental prose”—the ones that leave you wondering about my state of mind—there will be more to come, have no fear. However, the wandering discourses of experimentation will be labeled as such. That way, if you prefer a more traditional genre, you can wait for subsequent uploads.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!

Cheers!
